2019 Stitching Part 2

March 2019 Finishes

First is a little sampler I stitched for my great-niece, Sierra (CeeCee).  I modified the pattern from The Stitching Shed, and changed the colors up a bit.

Next, the May design from HOD's A Year in Celebrations.  I was going to stitch these once a month, but I enjoyed stitching these so much, I finished most of them up by spring.  I switched a lot of colors in this pattern, which is something I don't do often, but doing it a little more now.

2019 in Stitching

I have neglected the blog terribly, but after attempting several different ways to keep track of my projects, I decided that I will try to put my finishes here to keep a sort of record of them.  I thought this would be the best way to add pictures and FFO'd projects.  We'll see how it goes.....

January 2019

First is the February block of A Year of Celebrations by Hands on Design. I didn’t realize that the circles inside of the heart were chocolates, so I changed the color to pink because I thought they were buttons.
Second is Be a Pineapple, also by Hands on Design. This was a kit from the Summer Event at the Silver Needle in 2018. My mom and I got to meet Cathy Haberman and Linda Ebright from Lizzie Kate at the Event. I was intimidated to start finishing it into a tray, but it worked out, and I’m pretty happy with it๐Ÿ˜Š

February

March and April blocks from HOD's Year of Celebrations.  I tried to finish them on clipboards following Cathy Haberman's tutorial so that I could switch out months all year.  I mean to stitch just one block every month, but they were so much fun, I ended up stitching all at once.

A few more finishes

First, this is a cross stitch I made for Nathan of Spider Man and Villains.  I got it back from the framers (Michael's) last week.  I love the red mat and Silver/blue frame.

Next is a piece I started before going into the hospital in Aug. 2009.  I didn't pick it up again until this summer because there are a lot of intricate details and beading in the pattern, and I wasn't quite up to that for a while.  But I love how it turned out.

This is the inside and outside of a Lizzie Kate needle holder/sewing kit that I bought a few years ago.  I couldn't resist the cute birdies and beading.  It was a bit tricky, because the stitching canvas was pre-sewn onto the fabric, but luckily, it was a small project.  Not sure I will attempt to do another project like this.

Another Lizzie Kate kit that I couldn't resist.  I love how this one turned out.  I'm thinking of adding trim around the edges and sewing it onto my pink Yazzi stitching case.

Initial Wreath cross stitch

A sweet little cross stitched wreath for baby Katherine--

The Bookshelf cross stitch by Little House

I started this one before my surgery in 2009, and am now finally close to finishing it (Yay!)  Now to decide how to frame it....
